How the built environment and infrastructure sector can reverse nature decline.

With Australia’s natural systems under increasing pressure, the built environment and infrastructure sector has a major role to play in shaping a nature-positive future.  

The Homes and Habitats report, authored by Pollination, WWF Australia, Griffith University and Nature&Climate, looks at opportunities for the built environment and infrastructure sector to reverse nature decline.  

Land use for built environment and infrastructure development is closely linked to vegetation clearing, ecosystem conversion, biodiversity loss, materials demand, infrastructure delivery and urban growth.  At the same time, all development depends on healthy natural systems for climate resilience, resource security, liveability, and long-term community health and wellbeing.
