Business as usual is no longer viable.
Globally, agriculture is the second largest emitter of greenhouse gas and the largest contributor to nature loss. This system is at risk of collapse, threatening the health of our planet and the viability of the $8 trillion a year food industry. Shifting to regenerative farming practices will be crucial, but this complex and costly transition requires new coalitions, approaches and forms of blended finance.
Financing the Regenerative Transition – a report by Pollination, Transformational Investing in Food Systems (TIFS) and the The Rockefeller Foundation – sets out new analysis of the landscape of financing resources for regenerative agriculture.
Drawing from over 40 primary interviews with field practitioners representing 6 continents and 18 countries, the report highlights promising financial instruments that have the potential to benefit millions of producers, regenerate extensive tracts of land, and mobilize substantial funds in both developed and emerging markets.
